Cangshan garlic, also known as gourd or garlic. According to Cui Shi's book "Records of the Eastern Han Dynasty", "Li Xun, as the governor of Yanzhou, planted wheat and garlic, which he had paid for without leaving anything. From this, it is known that garlic settled down in Shandong at that time.

Garlic was planted in Lanling after the Western Han Dynasty. According to Cui Shi's book "Records of the Eastern Han Dynasty", "Li Xun was the governor of Yanzhou. He planted wheat and garlic in the garden, which he had paid for without leaving." According to the "Book of Later Han", Li Xun, a person from the era of Emperor Zhang of the Eastern Han Dynasty (76-88 AD), came from the northwest to Shandong as the governor, brought some garlic seeds, planted them in the backyard of the government, and distributed the harvest to his subordinates. It can be imagined that during the Eastern Han Dynasty, garlic was widely cultivated in Shandong, and at that time, garlic was still a rare variety. Due to the higher yield, larger garlic head, and better taste of garlic compared to small garlic, it began to be planted in rural areas near Yanzhou, and gradually expanded and promoted to other areas, including Jining, Jiaxiang, Tai'an, and then introduced to the Lanling area.
